Talk to manufacturers who build side-dump trailers, and the first thing they're anxious to do is dispel what they consider "myths" about their products. To wit, the side-dump's use is limited to a few special applications, the side-dump is unstable, and the side-dump has a complicated design that's unreliable and diffi-cult to maintain. Not true, say these manufacturers, because the side-dump is quite versatile, is perhaps more stable than an end-dump on less-than-ideal dumpsites, and has a straightforward design that in some respects is less complicated than that of an end-dump.
