The Softer Side of Iron

We editors spent several days reviewing the year's new products a few weeks ago, as we went through our annual selection process for the Top 100 Products of 2017. For a Conexpo year, the number of major machine upgrades and improvements fell short of what we expected. What we saw were fewer "hard" updates and much more "soft" upgrades. Components and engineering were, and always will be, at the soul of these machines, but we noticed an unmistakable shift toward the financial performance of equipment.
