This paper focuses on the coupled influence of alkali-aggregate mixing content, curing temperature and curing time: alkali expansion was modelled and calculated using a micro-scale approach (at the pore scale). The evaluation of the alkali expansion was quantified according to chemical reaction rate and nano-mechanics to determine the influence of different conditions. Finally, the consequences of ASR expansion are compared with experimental results. The calculation results show good accuracy regarding the expansion value of the ASR at low temperatures but exhibit large errors at high temperatures. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
