Case Studies of Performance Assessment of Ageing High Alumina Cement Concrete

These case studies and others demonstrate that ageing HAC concretes, with water/cement ratios and cement contents outside current recommendations, can still show good or adequate durability performance. This does not imply however, that current guidelines for HAC concrete are too conservative. Where durability problems with HAC concrete have arisen, effective repair or replacement of isolated elements has generally been possible, enabling structures to continue in service.
