Hybrid concrete construction -that is the combined use of precast and in-situ concrete -is a technique that is little understood and has been poorly exploited in the UK. However, with recent research highlighting the significant benefits of hybrid structures and the flagship project at the new Toyota (GB) Ltd headquarters where the research findings have been shown to work in practice, this may be about to change.
