Non-metallic reinforcement for concrete

The use of non-metallic reinforcement helps increase the durability of concrete structures as it does not corrode. However, development of these new forms of reinforcement has involved much analysis of technical problems and the formulation of strategies to overcome them. During the past 20 years, there has been much international research to identify the uncertainties and provide engineers with information needed to design successful products.
