Seit dem 01.01. 2005 ist die neue Normenreihe der DIN 1045-1 bis 4 und der DIN EN 206-1 für die Neuplanung und Ausführung von Massivbauwerken in Deutschland allein verbindlich. Darüber hinaus wurde der Schlussentwurf des Eurocode 2 (EC2) nach der formellen positiven Abstimmung in Europa im Jahre 2004 verabschiedet, wobei dessen verbindliche Einführung unter Zurückziehung der entsprechenden nationalen Regelwerke vermutlich erst nach dem Jahre 2010 zu erwarten ist. Innerhalb der nächsten beiden Jahre ist das nationale Anwendungsdokument für den EC2 zu erarbeiten. Der notwendige Auslegungs- und Korrekturprozess vollzieht sich bei der neuen DIN 1045-1 vor dem Hintergrund der seit Mitte der 1990er-Jahre andauernden Krise in der Bauindustrie besonders schmerzhaft.
