Damage to roads and sewer networks - Interactions and hands-on experience

Due to ongoing emergency repairs, uncoordinated construction and maintenance activities and damage to the fabric caused by traffic loads, there is an increasing number of excavations on traffic areas, which are generally deteriorating as a result. To a significant extent, the deterioration of the road conditions due to ever-increasing traffic loads in conjunction with reduced maintenance efforts, and - if applicable - the inadequate design of road pavements, also have an influence on the sewer systems laid in road areas. In particular, it is the heavy truck traffic considerably growing both in intensity and in the utilization of permissible payloads that contributes to the increase in wear and tear of road pavements.
