North America's railroads are under increasing pressure to build more tracks, develop additional terminals and raise operating efficiency in order to cope with the region's continuing strong growth in intermodal traffic. John Fossey spoke exclusively to BNSF, about how it is facing up to the challenges. BNSF's Steve Branscum, group vice president of consumer products, revealed to CI: 'Intermodal is our fastest-growing business sector, and we have to continue to invest in our system and improve the quality of our services in order to satisfy our customers' requirements.'
