US to get new border crossing

The US Transportation Secretary Mary E Peters has announced the planned opening of a new US-Mexico border crossing point, near Yuma (AZ), and close to south-eastern California. Such a move will benefit shippers and trucking companies moving goods throughout the NAFTA region. According to a spokesman at the Greater Yuma Port Authority, the new commercial crossing point, called San Luis II, involves the redesign and reconstruction of an existing, much smaller border point.
