Deep water jetty for Humber Sea Terminal

The Humber Sea Terminal is a major port development for the Humber Estuary and the UK. It provides a complete port service, including two new deep-water river berths for roll-on roll-off (ro-ro) ferries, substantial port side facilities and a comprehensive range of supply chain services. The Terminal has excellent motorway, rail and sea access and the ports of Continental Europe are just 18-24 hours away. The from contract for the second phase of development involves the design and construction of a 240m long, 13m wide finger-pier using a combination of precast and in-situ concrete. It comprises a suspended deck supported on 94 tubular steel piles driven to chalk bedrock, plus associated structures and dredging. Work on the development has to be carried out without disruption to shipping using the adjoining existing facilities.
