Automatic execution of business process models: exploiting the benefits of model-driven engineering approaches

This frontal attack on the holy grail of model-driven design and business process management in one sweep definitely raised my interest. The authors explicitly claim that they have solved the problem of automatically generating executable code from abstract process models without any human intervention. While their claim is true on the narrow scientific level of the paper, for all practical purposes the problem still remains wide open and as unsolved as ever. Here is why.
