摘要

Linda W. Braun's Teens, Technology, and Literacy; Or, Why Bad Grammar Isn't Always Bad argues, in line with major initiatives in rhetoric and composition, that educators must value both new technologies as well as the technological literacies that students bring to our classrooms. After a brief overview of literacy, a stance inspired in large part by the work of Brian Street and James Gee, Braun offers practical introductions to, and ideas for, implementing new technological literacies into elementary and secondary classrooms and libraries. Braun's work emphasizes the practical aspects of integrating computer literacy into the classroom, reminding scholars that theory must be closely aligned with practice to be meaningful.
