When new threats emerge, anti-malware vendors can take too long to come up with protective measures, says a new report.rnResearch firm NSS Labs surveyed the responses of 10 leading anti-maiware vendors to what it described as "socially engineered or consensual malware threats". The companies included in the test were AVG, Norman, ESET, Panda, F-Secure, Sophos, Kaspersky, Symantec, McAfee and Trend Micro. The NSS Labs test mimicked what the organisation believes are typical browsing habits, and then checked to see how these packages performed when confronted with malware-infected web pages.
