The Economic Realties of Networking

The health of each organizational information system rests on the soundness of its underlying network infrastructure. Consequently, the economics of IT are closely tied to the cost effectiveness being realized from the hardware and software that drive these networks. Too often network infrastructure cost is ignored because it is mostly hidden from the view of the users. IT managers, however, should not fall into this trap because cost inefficiencies in networks can become budget busters.
