Anew online map shows every German air raid on the UK during World War Two, totalling 32,000 attacks stretching from the Orkney islands to the Isles of Scilly. York University researcher Dr Laura Blomvall compiled the Bombing Britain database (www.snipca.com/33052) by scrutinising 6,500 pages of wartime intelligence reports held in the National Archive. She said the map "allows us to visualise how bomb strikes affected the entire country, not just London and the South East".
