MS Office is used by nearly all respondents. Similar large portions were reported across all sizes of company, competitive intelligence budget and staff, and across all industries and regions.rnThe Competitive Intelligence Foundation's State of the Art survey found that competitive intelligence (CI) is still a relatively small function within most organizations, often with one or fewer full-time employees and a very limited budget. The survey also found that more than 90 percent of competitive intelligence practitioners have access to Microsoft (MS) Office~(TM).rnBecause of their limited resources, practitioners must get the most value possible out of software and tools they already have. Even though most companies purchase and install Microsoft Office, many users are not skilled enough to take advantage of the software's advanced features.
