The on-board antenna system for the advanced mobile satellite communications experiments

In the development of the antenna system of the advanced mobile satellite communications equipment (MCE) for COMETS, we investigated ways to reduce the weight of the on-board equipment and ways to share the use of the antenna system with other mission equipment. The results were that the antenna system for the MCE could share the feeder link communication (FLC) antenna of the inter-orbit communications equipment (ICE) developed by the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA).
