The filter presented here is used to clarify fluids, mainly for the treatment of wa- ter. The filter element consists of linear synthetic fibres, which are placed side to side and maintained in place by a pneumatic belt. The particulate matter is captured wi- thin the fibrous matrix. The filter is easily cleaned by a backwash cycle with a mix- ture of air-water and periodically with an alimentary acid. It is compact, light, mo- dular, and has many advantages against conventional filters (sand filters).
