British truck manufacturing has received a shot in the arm with the launch of Tevva's new 7.5-tonner at the Freight in the City exhibition at the end of September. It's fully electric, which is a brave move, considering that established manufacturers a re investing heavily in electric vehicles, and with new models already coming to market. Tevva plans to build the 75-tonner at a new ll,000sq m manufacturing facility in the London Thames Freeport area. The company hopes to create an additional 1,000 skilled jobs in mechanical engineering, software and manufacturing in the next two years. Production is scheduled to begin in July 2022, with up to 3,000 trucks per annum rolling out of the plant by 2023.
