Higher productivity and London compliance have been the key factors behind JJ Foodservice's decision to downsize its fleet of rigid refrigerated distribution trucks. The recent delivery of 50 new examples of the Isuzu F135.240(E) brings the nationwide food wholesaler's tally of Isuzu 13.5-tonners to 77 out of a 144-vehicle fleet. They will be followed by another 20 vehicles later in the year, which will give the Japanese manufacturer a 94% presence in the fleet, with a mix of 75- and 13.5-tonners. The 50 newcomers have Paneltex 6.3m twin-compartment refrigerated box bodies, while the next batch will be a mix of bodies from Gray & Adams and Solomon.
