In May, Scotts Haulage took delivery of a new FH16 750. The delivery date was supposed to be months earlier, but the haulier was let down by the supplying dealer. Commercial Motor attempted to pull some strings, to aid with a quicker delivery time, but failed miserably. "It was such a shame, as we wanted to show it at Truckfest," admits Yvonne. After taking delivery, Scotts spent two months preparing the truck to its typically high standard. It commissioned Fusion Engineering to fabricate and fit side skirts and a smooth catwalk. Other additions include lightbars, rear bumper and a bull bar borrowed from its previous FH flagship. The truck is finished in the haulier's usual eye-catching paintwork, complete with St George's Cross. The finishing touch is a private number plate. Although initially the newcomer won't be overexerting, Mike is toying with the idea of branching out into heavy haulage.
