BIRMINGHAM REMAINS the number one hotspot for 'crash-for-cash' scams for the sixth consecutive quarter, according to the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB). Latest statistics also show that parts of the south coast are becoming targets for criminals staging accidents in a bid to make thousands of pounds in fraudulent insurance claims. Portsmouth and Brighton appear for the first time at 20th and 16th, and Guildford and Reading also make a debut appearance in the top 20. Sheffield is second, with Manchester and Nottingham third and fourth.
