Some of the most tangible savings are likely to come from better fuel consumption because telematics can help establish how and why fuel is being wasted. Analysis of telematics reports allows operators to focus their attention on the drivers and vehicles that offer most scope for improvement. Preventing excessive engine-idling is an example of this, or finding out why drivers are departing from the best routes.
