Bank chief given confiscation order

A judge in Hong Kong has ordered the confiscation of about $1.46 millionfrom a former senior bank executive convicted of accepting the sum, beingbribes, from a bank client.The 42-year-old former associate director of UBS AG Hong Kong Branch(UBS Hong Kong Branch) was found guilty in a case brought by Hong Kong’sIndependent Commission Against Corruption.He has been given six months to make the payment and will be required toserve an additional term of 30 months’ imprisonment should he be in defaultof the confiscation order. He was earlier sentenced to three and a half years’in jail for the crime.
