IRELAND has introduced a new Criminal Justice (Corruption Offences) Bill which is aimed at completely modernising Irish anti-corruption laws. It will repeal and replace seven existing Acts that deal with corruption and bribery and has been described as a robust and innovative piece of legislation that provides for a number of new offences as well as stronger penalties for those convicted of corruption.
