The motto of the practical shooter, given to us by Jeff Cooper, is Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas (DVC for short.) Translated from Latin to English, this means Accuracy, Power, Speed. This is the triumvirate that all good practical shooting is based on. You must use a powerful weapon, the shot must be delivered with accuracy, and it must be performed with all deliberate speed. These three essential elements are sometimes hard to coordinate and balance for the inexperienced shooter.
