摘要

A one-meter rise in sea level is expected to have a significant impact on population movements throughout the world during the next century. It is widely argued that current immigration and refugee laws do not adequately address human displacement associated with climate change. This is a matter of particular concern for small islands states such as the FAS, as a one-meter rise in sea level poses a threat to the long-term habitability of many coastal regions and low-lying islands within these states.
