Electrometric studies on effects of sodium sulphide, sodium sulphite and sodium thiosulphate in vat dyebaths Part 2

The subject matter presented partly in the last installment (Sci-Tech series No. wrongly printed as '56' in place of '55'), as Part 1 is continued and completed in this installment. Fig. 13 on decomposition of blank dyebaths with sulphide as partial substitute for hydrosulphite, inadvertently missed in Part 1, is included at the end of this Part. Whereas studies on blank dyebaths were presented in the earlier Part, this Part describes similar studies on dyebaths proper. Sodium sulphide and sodium sulphite have shown positive results in vat dyebaths for their use as partial substitutes for sodium hydrosulphite .This study further indicates different mechanisms of action of these reducing agents in vat dyebaths.
