The printed fabrics after good and thorough drying are fixed in any of the following ways as per the availability of equipments. 1) Continuous loop steamer for 30-60 mins at 102℃ 2) In a star ager at atmospheric pressure at 102℃-104℃. In rare cases the steam pressure is increased to 0.2-0.3 bar for more even circulation of steam. The duration of steaming time is set according to the depth of colour in the design and the coverage of the design. Since the development of loop steamer the dye fixing technology has undergone a sea change.
