Spotlight on Textile Machinery Relaxation Dryers/Tensionless Dryers/Shrinkage Dryers-II

摘要

This paper is the second and the concluding part on relaxation dryers, also known as tensionless dryers and shrinkage dryers. As mentioned in the first part, we will be discussing only those machines suitable to process woven fabrics. Those machines developed exclusively for knits will be taken up only in our future paper on processing machines for knits. Fabrics undergo stress and strain to get deformed during spinning, weaving, wet processing and mechanical finishing resulting in losing dimensional stability which will create severe problems for garments stitched out of these fabrics. It is therefore necessary to relieve fabrics of any stresses and bring them to a relaxed state before they are cut and sent for garment manufacturing or put to any end use. Machines deliberated here are specially designed and developed to meet this objective.
