Surely, all our loyal readers would recollect a column that we had introduced in the journal about 4 years ago, titled Textile Pot Pourri. As the name suggests, the column was meant to be one of diverse content, encompassing everything related to the scope of the journal, and yet not confined to any specific areas. Logic would have suggested that the column would be penned over a period of time by different authors, each lending his or her expertise, allowing for the column to justify its name and intent over a period of time. However, we were fortunate enough to find such knowledge, dexterity and commitment from one single individual. That was David Parkes.
