Khaleda Zia urges garment firms to ensure workers' safety

Bangladesh's leader of opposition Begum Khaleda Zia has urged the country's readymade garment manufacturers to ensure safety of workers as they are the lifeline of the sector that fetches the largest chunk of foreign exchange for the country. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (Batexpo-2012), the former Prime Minister said it is necessary to ensure better working conditions for workers.
