Implementation of GST

Legislation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been in the air for quite some time now. GST, which is a single tax, was to replace most of the indirect taxes levied by both the Centre and States. As per the constitutional requirements, it has to get consent and nod from the Parliament and State Assemblies before the Act is implemented. Time and again, it was discussed in public about its legislation by the Parliament, but till date for various political reasons, the same continues to be hanging in balance.
