The demand for natural dyes in the modern world is increasing day by day. Such dyes are obtainable mainly from vegetable sources. Global awareness is also set for the use of natural resources for saving the environment and the earth from pollution and ecological imbalances. Therefore it is an urge to utilize the vast diversity of natural resources of colour pigments. These resources have become important for their use in food materials, Pharmaceuticals and textiles, instead of their synthetic counterparts. To use these resources is to safeguard human health, as well as to protect and prolong life on the earth. Accounting these facts, it seems that the history is going to repeat. Really, in the days to follow, there will be reintroduction of natural dyes.
