Automotive Textile Industry on a Sustainable path

With increase in environment awareness, automotive companies are taking initiatives to meet the challenges of sustainable growth and cost. Automotive textiles are largest consumer of technical textiles (20 kg/car) that are unique and have different applications. MNC majors produce suitable Disperse dyes (containing mixtures) to fulfil requirements for seats, instrument panels and roof by alkaline dyeing method with Colour Constancy (D65-A) under rigid tolerance limits (△ ≤ 0.2) and seat belts by Thermosol method. Appropriate UV absorbers absorb ultra-violet radiation and protect the dyeing against fading of the fibre. Special Finishes are Flame retardant; Water repellent; Hydrophilic, Soil release; Antibacterial etc.
