Hon.Finance Minister Shri P. Chidambaram presented the Interim Union Budget for the fiscal 2014-2015 to the Parliament on 17th February 2014. The fiscal deficit has been restricted to 4.1% of GDP for the next financial year as against 4.6% for 2013-2014, which itself is a commendable achievement. There has been sharp Excise Duty cut on a variety of products like automobiles, consumer durables, all goods under chapter 84 and 85 etc. from 12% to 8-10%.
