Shortly before World War II, Powel Crosley, Jr., made his dream of being an automaker come true. After the war, he enjoyed his little car's best years. Crosley Field, home of the Cincinnati Reds through 1970, had a notorious quirk in left field: a 15-degree incline called "the terrace," which frustrated many outfielders.
