If you had to pick one car that was the visual definition of what went wrong at General Motors during the Eighties, the 1986 Cadillac Seville would be a strong contender. Still, that doesn't mean the third-generation Seville was completely hopeless. The "international-sized" 1976 Cadillac Seville was remarkable on many fronts, perhaps most importantly that it introduced "sheer look" design defined by clean, sharp lines. The redesigned 1980 Seville abandoned this somewhat- most notably the notchback roofline- and introduced the short-lived "bustle -back" fad among American luxury cars.
