By the latter half of the first decade of the 2000s, the brand image of General Motors' Buick Division seemed to be stuck in Geezerville. Though Buicks were as posh and quiet as ever, there was nothing in the "Tri-Shield" roster that was even mildly pulse-quickening. Hot-rod Buicks, such as the torque -king Gran Sports of the original muscle car era and the sinister Regal Grand Nationals of the Eighties, were a distant memory.
