摘要

To the Editor—The invited article by Edmond and Eickhoff [1] makes a number of salient points about the driving forces influencing hospital infection control programs and the need for increased resources for this critical function in health care institutions. However, the article leaves the inaccurate impression that the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) collaborations with for‐profit organizations are outside standard practices for health care associations and that APIC’s methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) education activities have been unduly influenced by corporate entities.
