In a far-flung washroom, loud hand dryers might not be the end of the world. But for spaces where people work, eat or relax, excessive and invasive noise can be disruptive - compromising not just comfort, but well-being too. So for Dyson's acoustic engineers, the aim was to design a hand dryer that could operate inside the washrooms of sound-sensitive spaces like offices, schools and restaurants - without disturbing those outside.
