U.S. DEMAND FOR DIESEL ENGINES AND PARTS TO REACH $19.5 BILLION IN 2013

Demand for diesel engines and related products in the United States (U.S.) is forecast to rise 6.2 percent annually to $19.5 billion in 2013, according to a new study, Diesel Engines & Related Parts, by The Freedonia Group, Inc., a Cleveland, Ohio, based industry research firm. Gains will be driven by the recovering U.S. heavy truck market, says the report. Rebounding consumer confidence and loosening credit standards will encourage truck fleet owners and managers to purchase new vehicles, virtually all of which will be outfitted with diesel engines.
