Accurate consumer market and policy insights are needed to predict what future electricity rates are needed in California and across the United States (U.S.) to promote the commercialization of electric vehicles (EVs), including battery and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Specific utility electricity rates, in combination with fluctuating local gasoline prices, are critical to the economic attractiveness of switching to EVs.
