BLM OIL SHALE AND TAR SANDS PEIS IDENTIFIES R&D

The United States (U.S.) Bureau of Land Management (BLM), a division of the Department of the Interior, has released a Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the allocation of oil shale and tar sands on public lands administered by the BLM in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.The Draft PEIS analyzes four alternatives for land allocation and resource management.
