EPA PROPOSES 80 PERCENT CUT IN SULFUR FOUND IN GASOLINE

In March, the United States (U.S.) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new standards limiting the allowable levels of sulfur in gasoline that will significantly reduce harmful pollution, prevent thousands of premature deaths and illnesses, and enable efficiency improvements in cars and trucks. The proposed standards will reduce gasoline sulfur levels by two-thirds, down to 10 parts per million in 2017.
