VW E-GOLF MAKES NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT AT LOS ANGELES SHOW

At the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VW) announced details about the e-Golf, its first battery electric vehicle (BEV) to go on sale in the United States (U.S.). In February, VW launched the e-Golf for sale in Germany with a base price of €34,900 (euros). The BEV is due to go on sale in the U.S. in select states in the fourth quarter of 2014. The e-Golf is part of a powertrain strategy that will lead to the timely introduction of new and alternative drive systems, and is a part of Volkswagen's holistic approach to sustainability. The Think Blue Volkswagen program has set a goal to be the world leader in e-mobility among automakers by 2018.
