The National Assembly For Wales' sustainability committee has recommended a restriction on sending wood to landfill in its latest report. In the Inquiry into the supply and demand for woody biomass the committee outlines several recommendations that will help stimulate production.rnThe recommendations include that the Welsh Government "does its best to ensure that existing wood-using industries... are not excluded from the market by the wood being diverted exclusively for burning", that the Welsh and UK Governments "establish minimum heat use efficiency standards for plants", and that the Welsh Government (or elected body) "works with suppliers to ensure their individual support requirements are being adequately met, ie through the Economic Renewal Programme".
