THE UK is required to introduce domestic legislation giving effect to the revised EU Waste Framework (WFD) by 12 December 2010. Among the main new features the revised WFD requires member states to:rn? apply the waste hierarchy in waste prevention and management legislationrn? achieve a target of preparing for re-use and recycling at least 50 percent of waste from households by 2020.
