For those not in the know, what is ISWA and what does it do? The International Solid Waste Association is the only global professional organisation that provides an opportunity for anyone or any organisation to help to establish enhanced waste management solutions for any part of the world. There is outreach work, especially to progress waste management from waste dumping to engineered landfill in developing economies. Derek Greedy, the incoming CIWM president, as chair of the ISWA Landfill Working Croup has been very active in this work.
